Mrs. Shiveley

Welcome to a new school year. My name is Mrs. Heather Shiveley and I have been a 7th grade English Language Arts teacher at Strong Middle School since 2019.

My previous experiences as a teacher include teaching in the areas of English, Speech, Journalism, Drama, and Reading Interventionist. Throughout my 14 years as a teacher, I’ve worked with students in 4th -12th grade. I am so happy and excited to start this year again as a Melvindale Cardinal.

As school commences, we will continue to learn and practice not only ELA content, but also what it means to have P.R.I.D.E in our school, and respect for ourselves and others. 

We will communicate with each other to make sure that everyone is learning, involved, an appreciated for each unique gift that every individual has to offer to this community.

In my free time, I most enjoy hanging out with my 2 kids and my pets- 2 dogs, a cat, and a guinea pig.

We like to spend time outdoors and always love a good movie night :)
