Mrs. DePalma
Hello and welcome to Strong Middle School Science with Mrs. DePalma! I am so happy to have you in my class! I love teaching Sixth grade, and I hope that passion translates into a great experience for all students in my classroom! It is my mission as a teacher to motivate students to take responsibility to make positive choices about their lives. I believe in each student’s ability to succeed and am committed to empower him or her to believe in their ability to succeed as well.
I grew up in Lincoln Park and am a LPHS graduate. (Go Rails!) I earned a Bachelor of Science from Eastern Michigan University, (Go Eagles!) From there I earned a Masters in the Art of Teaching from Marygrove College and a Master in the Art of Science – Technology from Walden University. I am blessed to have such a solid educational foundation to use in my classroom.
In addition to teaching, I also love to coach basic and competitive figure skating. I coach at the Taylor Sportsplex and in several of the ice arenas in the Downriver Area. In August I am usually found at Melvindale’s Safety Town. There I teach pre-school students everything they need to know about being safe in and around their environment. As you can see, I spend a lot of my free time with kids!
As you begin your first year at Strong Middle School, I know it is a new beginning and not knowing what to expect can be stressful. Remember, we are in this together! I am always here to help you! We can do this!
