2nd Hour ELA Assignments

We will do this together in class. 

Fill out the form for attendance.

Extra credit is available if you choose to do it.
Make an image with what you think one of the character's desk would look like (from Hidden Figures).
Include Character's name and 3-4 artifacts that would be on that character's desk. Briefly explain each artifact and why it would be there. The first slide is just an example of the image. You may set your text and image boxes up however you would like.

Answer the Google form for attendance. Go to No Red Ink (the link is found under our materials in "Classwork") and Complete the assignment dated today, 2/22 "Identifying Coordinating Conjunctions". Read the Lesson and complete the practice with mastery. You will know when you have hit mastery because the program will tell you that you have. WORK on any missing assignments from the last two weeks.

Fill out the google form for mc. No Books. Written response is on a google slide. Fill that out in your own writing.

Write your responses in complete sentences. You may use your book.

We will watch the videos together & go through instructions on brainstorming and planning (pre-writing).

L.O.- SWBAT write to brainstorm and sequence their personal narratives in a graphic organizer to produce clear and coherent writing using details and sequencing.

Open the slide deck- it has everything you will need. Go in order. Discuss the essential questions on the 1st slide. Everyone has their own copy to open when it is time to fill in the answers to the questions, but you will be reading the story together as a class.

We are going to watch the video, read the article, discuss, and do a brief writing activity.

Answer the questions and submit. Keep your books closed during Multiple choice. You may use your books for the written portion (the last 2 questions).

Watch the video first and then do the assignment. You will be given example text messages and asked to make inferences about them using text evidence.
